TARGET GROUP

The course programmes are suitable for career-oriented individuals including Senior High School Graduants and matured corporate/business personnel who desire to pursue courses and upgrade their careers in various specialised areas in the real estate industry, including property management, facilities management, land administration/management, real estate agency practice, and housing estate development.

Course objective

The objective of this certificate course is to provide trainees/learners with an overview of the real property management and the related land administration/management, and facilities management, and their functions in the real estate industry. It covers the essential elements and best practices of real property and facilities management.

This programme explains the principles of real property and facilities management, the major components, the duties and functions of the property/facilities manager, the management plan, practical management of various property types, and the techniques and procedures involved in the maintenance of buildings.

The course also covers some major elements of the theory and practice of land administration and management systems which constitutes a key component of the real estate industry, with emphasis on the system being practised in Ghana. Land Administration/management basically includes formal and informal land tenure and administration systems, the various interests that may subsist in land, procedure for formal land acquisition (purchase and leases), land registration, some relevant aspects of land use planning, and compulsory land acquisition and compensation.
